Star Partner's Employee Terms Of Use - Woolworths
  1. Star Social Rewards (Star Social) is a rewards programme owned and operated by Star Hospitality Group Limited (Star or we). 
  2. Star Social entitles Rewards Members (Member, you or your) to earn Star Social Reward Points (Star Points) on eligible purchases made in any participating hospitality establishment in accordance with these terms and conditions (Terms).
  3. A list of participating establishments can be found at www.stargroup.nz (Participating Establishments). Participating Establishments may also display signage indicating they are part of Star Social.  
  4. Star Points are not redeemable for cash.  
  5. All decisions by Star in relation to the Star Social programme shall be made in its sole and absolute discretion, and all decisions by Star are final.

Membership registration

  1. ‍Registering to be a Member of StarSocial is free of charge.  
  2. By registering with StarSocial, you agree to these Terms. We may amend these Terms from time to time without prior notification to you. You are responsible to review these Terms periodically for any changes.
  3. To become a Member of Star Social’s StarPartner Tier, you must:
    1. sign up by registering on the Star Social Application (Application) or online at www.stargroup.nz/starsocial-register by providing your name, date of birth, email address, mobile phone number and password;  
    2. input a valid unique code that will enable you to access the Star Partner Tier benefits; and
    3. verify your account by responding to the verification email or SMS message received.  
  4. If you are an existing Star Social Member, open the Star Social app, click “more” in the navigation bar, and select “Enter Promo Code”, enter the unique code. This will convert your existing tier to Star Partner Tier.
  5. You can only redeem Star Points after you have completed the registration process including verification, and agree to the Star Social Rewards Terms of Use.
  6. All personal details and profile information given to Star Social must be accurate. It is up to you to keep your profile information up to date and to ensure that all personal details are current at all times. 
  7. Star may terminate your membership with Star Social without notice if you do not comply with the Terms.  
  8. You are only able to register and maintain one (1) account and the account must be in your name. You must not use another Member’s account.  
  9. A Member may at any time terminate his or her membership via the Star Social app or Star Social website, or by giving notice to Star Social via sending an email to starsocial@stargroup.nz  

Star Social membership - benefits

Earning Star Points

  1. Star Points may be earned every time a Member makes a qualifying purchase at a Participating Establishment. Star Points cannot be earned on the following:
    1. purchases made via the redemption of StarPoints;  
    2. purchases made via “EFTPOS cash-out” transactions;  
    3. deposit payments;  
    4. indirect purchases (UberEATS, Red Balloon, ticketing platforms);  
    5. purchases made via utilising the credit on Star gift cards; and
    6. selected specials or promotions as communicated by Star from time to time.  
  2. To accumulate Star Points, the following must be presented at a Participating Establishment prior to making payment for a qualifying purchase:
    1. A Member’s mobile phone number;  
    2. unique In-App identifier number; or  
    3. unique In-App QR code.  
  3. Any Star Points earned will be added to that Member’s account within 48 hours from the point of payment at the Participating Establishment. If payment is made pursuant to receipt of an invoice, Star Points will be added your account within 30 days from the point of payment. Star does not permit the use of a Member’s Star Social account for use with any other person’s payment.  
  4. Star Social Members earn 1 Star Point for every NZ$10.00 spent in any one transaction. Star Points can be earned on qualifying purchases up to a total spend of NZ$10,000.00 in (i) any one day; or (ii) a single booking.  For illustration purposes, a booking was made for an event or function, and the total cost was $15,000. If for any reason, the full payment for this booking was made over several days, the maximum number of Star Points that may be earned for this booking is 1000 Star Points.   
  5. In addition, Star Social Members of the Star Partner Tier receive an additional 10% discount on the full price of Tap Beer, Wine, Cocktails & Soft Drinks, Burgers, Pizzas & Fish and Chips at Participating Establishments, subjected to the following limitation: up to a maximum of 4 drinks and 2 food items per 24-hour period. The additional 10% discount in this clause cannot be used at the event: Wellington on a Plate. 
  6. The discounts and/or benefits offered under the Star Partner Tier shall not be used in conjunction with other discounts offered at a Participating Establishment. In such cases, and as much as possible, the more favourable discount shall apply. 
  7. To illustrate: a Star Social Member of the Star Partner Tier level visits a Participating Establishment that is running a promotional offer, for example: 2 pizzas for $40. This Star Social Member will enjoy the promotional offer being run by the Participating Establishment instead of receiving an additional 10% discount stated in sub-clause (a) above i.e. the Star Social Member will pay $40 and not $36, as the saving in the promotional offer is greater.  
  8. For avoidance of doubt, and as mentioned in clause 20 above, this is not a guarantee and is always subject to Star’s ability to amend the terms at any time without prior notice to you, and all decisions by Star shall be made in its sole and absolute discretion, and are final
  9. A record of all Star Points earned will be kept in the Member’s account maintained on the Star Social system.
  10. Any alleged inconsistencies in a Member’s account should be reported to Star. In the case of any dispute, the decision of Star is final and binding.

Redemption of Star Points

  1. Star Points may be redeemed for certain discounts and reward items. Redemption of Star Points can only take place after registration has been completed online at www.stargroup.nz/starsocial-register. Any amount paid using the redemption of Star Points will not enable you to earn StarPoints on that amount.
  2. Each Star Point entitles the Member to redeem a NZ$1.00 discount, which may be used to offset the cost of your next qualifying purchase. For example, a Member who has 100 Star Points is able to redeem all of them by deducting up to NZ$100.00 from their next qualifying purchase. You must inform the staff at the Participating Establishment of your intention to use StarPoints to pay/part-pay for a qualifying purchase prior to completing payment.
  3. You may be able to use Star Points to redeem listed reward items on the Application. The required number of Star Points for each reward item will be displayed on the Application. The reward items on offer may change at any time and are subject to availability at the Participating Establishments.  
  4. The Star Points and reward items regardless of their condition, quality, merchantability or fitness for use, are not exchangeable for cash or credit unless specifically stated otherwise. 
  5. The number of Star Points redeemed will be deducted from the Member’s Star Points balance. The oldest Star Points will be deducted first.  
  6. More details on the Star Partner Tier and corresponding offers may be found in the Star Social Application. Star may amend the terms and conditions for the Star Partner Tier.

Star Points expiry, deductions and termination

  1. ‍StarPoints, for the purposes of redemption, will automatically expire and become void 183 days after the date on which they were accumulated. Accordingly, they will be deducted from the Member’s account balance at that time.  
  2. If Star Points are added to a Member’s account in error or fraudulently, Star may deduct those Star Points. If Star Points were earned on a transaction that was later cancelled, refunded or voided, Star may deduct the Star Points associated with that transaction.    
  3. If either you or we cancel or terminate your Star Social Membership, any unused Star Points become void. All decisions by Star are final. 
  4. We may discontinue or suspend Star Social at any time. If Star Social is discontinued, you will have three (3) months in which to redeem any unused Star Points. After this time, your Star Points will be void and your Star Social Membership will be terminated. You will not be able to accumulate Star Points from the date that Star Social is discontinued. 
  5. Your organisation’s existing unique code will cease to have effect at 23:59 on 31 March of every calendar year. A new unique code will be generated one month prior to 31 March and communicated to you. This new code shall have effect from 1 April until 31 March of the subsequent calendar year. In the event that your employment with your organisation terminates, you will lose access to the benefits attached to the Star Partner tier. However, you will retain all Star Points earned, and your Membership tier level will be determined accordingly. You may continue to use Star Social Rewards in line with the Star Social Rewards Terms of Use.   
  6. Staff Benefits attached to the Star Partner Tier are held in agreement between your organisation and Star Group. In the event that your organization cancels its Corporate Partnership Agreement, you will lose access to the Star Partner Tier benefits.

Other benefits

  1. We may offer other personalised product deals, services, rewards, gifts or other benefits (Benefits) to Members. The Benefits may change without notice. The nature, quantity, award and availability of the Benefits will be decided by Star.  
  2. To redeem a Benefit, you must follow the instructions provided by Star.  
  3. You must redeem a Benefit within the time stated. Otherwise, it will expire. There may be limits on the number of Benefits you may receive. Benefits may not be used in conjunction with any other Benefit unless stated otherwise.  
  4. ‍We do not guarantee the availability of any Benefits and we are not responsible or liable to you if a Benefit is or becomes unavailable. If a Benefit or part of it becomes unavailable for a reason beyond our control, we will award a similar item of equal or greater value.  

Application and website

  1. You acknowledge and agree that your download, installation and use of the Application and / or use of the Websites (www.stargroup.nz; www.stargroup.nz/starsocial) is at your own risk and cost, and solely for your private, personal and non-commercial use. 
  2. You acknowledge and agree that you are solely responsible for all acts and omissions associated with your access and use of the Application and / or Websites, and the access and use of the Application and / or Websites by anyone on your behalf. When using the Application, you should refrain from wilfully, or negligently modifying, reverse engineering, disassembling or converting the Application.
  3. All material and logos on the Application and Websites remain the property of Star.
  4. Star is not responsible for the content of any other websites or applications linked on the Application or Websites.
  5. You may view the details of your Star Partner Tier on the Application, or by visiting a Participating Establishment and asking a staff member at the time of payment.

Liability

  1. ‍All conditions and warranties, whether express or implied and whether arising under legislation or otherwise, as to the condition, suitability, quality, fitness for purpose, or safety of any goods or services supplied under the StarSocial Membership, are expressly excluded to the full extent permitted by law.

  1. All personal information or material that you submit to this site is subject to Star’s Privacy Policy (www.stargroup.nz/starsocial-privacy-policy). The Privacy Policy forms part of these Terms.
