StarSocial Rewards Terms of Use – Corporate Partners

1. StarSocial Rewards (StarSocial) is a rewards programme owned and operated by Star Hospitality Group Limited (Star or we).

2. StarSocial entitles Corporate Partners (Corporate Partner, you or your) to earn StarSocial Reward Points (StarPoints) on eligible purchases made by your employees in any participating hospitality establishment in accordance with these terms and conditions (Terms).

3. A list of participating establishments can be found at www.stargroup.nz (Participating Establishments). Participating Establishments may also display signage indicating they are part of StarSocial.

4. StarPoints are not redeemable for cash.

5. All decisions by Star in relation to the StarSocial programme shall be made in its sole and absolute discretion, and all decisions by Star are final.

REGISTRATION TO BE A CORPORATE PARTNER

6. Registering to be a Corporate Partner of StarSocial is free of charge.

7. You must have at least two hundred (200) full time employees to register as a Corporate Partner. Only employees of the corporate entity may be onboarded to create their individual corporate membership account. Exceptions may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Please send an email to starsocial@stargroup.nz and we will be happy to discuss further.

8. By signing the Corporate Business Agreement, you agree to these Terms. We may amend these Terms from time to time without prior notification to you. You are responsible to review these Terms periodically for any changes.

9. To become a Corporate Partner of StarSocial:

a. you must appoint an employee to be the main point of contact that is authorised by the Corporate Partner to manage the Corporate Partner’s StarSocial account (the “POC”);

b. the POC signs up on behalf of the Corporate Partner by registering on the StarSocial Application (Application) or online at www.stargroup.nz/starsocial-register by providing their name, their corporate entity’s name, corporate email address, mobile phone number and password;

c. the POC provides the name, corporate email address, and phone number of a secondary point of contact (“Secondary POC”) (provided that the POC has obtained the necessary approvals and sought prior consent from the Secondary POC to disclose their personal information to Star); and

d. the POC verifies the Corporate Partner’s account by responding to the verification email or SMS message received.

10. You can only earn and redeem StarPoints after you have completed the registration process including verification.

11. All personal details and profile information given to StarSocial must be accurate. It is up to you to keep your profile information and personal details up to date.

12. Star may terminate your StarSocial Partnership without notice if you do not comply with the Terms.

13. You are only able to register and maintain one (1) Corporate account.

14. A Corporate Partner may terminate their Corporate account at any time by giving notice to StarSocial via sending an email to starsocial@stargroup.nz ; any unused StarPoints shall be void upon termination of the Corporate account. 

15. Upon successful registration, for a limited time period only, each employee that registers with your unique code for an individual corporate membership account will be credited with 20 StarPoints that they may use at a Participating Establishment. (“Employee Sign-Up Points”) The time period may be amended in accordance with Star’s sole and absolute discretion. These StarPoints are valid for use by your employee for a duration of 6 months from the date the code is inputted by the employee.

STARSOCIAL PARTNERSHIP AND BENEFITS

EARNING STARPOINTS


16. You will earn one (1) StarPoint for every one (1) StarPoint that your employee earns under their individual corporate membership account. Please note that this clause does not apply to the Employee Sign-Up Points.

17. The above StarPoints will be calculated and rebated back to your Corporate account monthly after the start of your Corporate Partnership contract term, and will be valid for 6 months from the date the StarPoints are loaded into your Corporate account.  

18. A record of all StarPoints earned will be kept in the Corporate Partner’s account maintained on the StarSocial system.

19. Any alleged inconsistencies in a Corporate Partner’s account should be reported to Star. In the case of any dispute, the decision of Star is final and binding.

REDEMPTION OF STARPOINTS

20. StarPoints may be redeemed for certain discounts. Redemption of StarPoints can only take place after registration has been completed.  

21. Each StarPoint entitles the Corporate Partner to redeem a NZ$1.00 discount, which may be used for the following purposes:  

a. Share StarPoints with the Corporate Partner’s employees as a form of employee incentive or as part of a work-related activity via transferring the StarPoints to the employees’ individual corporate membership account to a maximum amount of 250 StarPoints per employee. Please reach out to your StarSocial account manager to facilitate the transfer of StarPoints;  

b. Offset up to 50% of the cost of catering a work-related function or event that is purchased from any Participating Establishment; and/or

c. Offset up to 50% of (i) the deposit (where applicable); and (ii) the full amount payable for work-related functions and events held at any Participating Establishment.  

In relation to (b.) and (c.), at the time of booking the function or event, or at least 72 hours prior to the function or event (whichever earlier), please inform your StarSocial account manager and the staff at the Participating Establishment of your intention to use StarPoints to pay/part-pay the cost. All bookings must be made with your StarSocial account manager.

The Corporate Partner is responsible for ensuring that any transactions from the Corporate account are used for work-related purposes only. Star is not responsible for any misuse of StarPoints by the Corporate Partner’s employees.  

22. The StarPoints and reward items regardless of their condition, quality, merchantability or fitness for use, are not exchangeable for cash or credit unless specifically stated otherwise.

23. The number of StarPoints redeemed will be deducted from the Corporate Partner’s StarPoints balance. The oldest StarPoints will be deducted first.

24. Star may amend the terms and conditions for each StarSocial Partnership.

STARPOINTS EXPIRY, DEDUCTIONS AND TERMINATION

25. StarPoints, for the purposes of redemption, will automatically expire and become void 183 days after the date on which they were accumulated. Accordingly, they will be deducted from the Corporate Partner’s account balance at that time.

26. If StarPoints are added to a Corporate Partner’s account in error or fraudulently, Star may deduct those StarPoints. If StarPoints were earned on a transaction that was later cancelled, refunded or voided, Star may deduct the StarPoints associated with that transaction.

27. If either you or we cancel or terminate your StarSocial Partnership, any unused StarPoints become void. All decisions by Star are final.

28. We may discontinue or suspend StarSocial at any time. If StarSocial is discontinued, you will have three (3) months in which to redeem any unused StarPoints. After this time, your StarPoints will be void and your StarSocial Partnership will be terminated. You will not be able to accumulate StarPoints from the date that StarSocial is discontinued.

29. Each Corporate Partnership period runs until 31 December of every calendar year.  

a. A notice will be sent to you prior to the end of every calendar year to enquire on renewal. If you renew, all balance StarPoints as of 31 December will be carried over to the subsequent calendar year.

b. Prior to the end of every calendar year, we will ask you to update the list of current employees that hold a corporate membership account that is linked to your organisation.  

c. Before 31 January of the subsequent calendar year, we will provide you with an updated list of current employees under your organisation who have signed up for a corporate membership account. Please reply with any changes by 31 January, where failure to do so may result in a deduction of up to 20% of StarPoints from your Corporate account.

OTHER BENEFITS

30. We may offer other personalised product deals, services, rewards, gifts or other benefits (Benefits) to Corporate Partners. The Benefits may change without notice. The nature, quantity, award and availability of the Benefits will be decided by Star.

31. To redeem a Benefit, you must follow the instructions provided by Star.

32. You must redeem a Benefit within the time stated. Otherwise, it will expire. There may be limits on the number of Benefits you may receive. Benefits may not be used in conjunction with any other Benefit unless stated otherwise.

33. We do not guarantee the availability of any Benefits and we are not responsible or liable to you if a Benefit is or becomes unavailable. If a Benefit or part of it becomes unavailable for a reason beyond our control, we will award a similar item of equal or greater value.

APPLICATION AND WEBSITE

34. You acknowledge and agree that your download, installation and use of the Application and / or use of the Websites (www.stargroup.nz; www.stargroup.nz/starsocial) is at your own risk and cost, and solely for your private, personal and non-commercial use.

35. You acknowledge and agree that you are solely responsible for all acts and omissions associated with your access and use of the Application and / or Websites, and the access and use of the Application and / or Websites by anyone on your behalf. When using the Application, you should refrain from wilfully, or negligently modifying, reverse engineering, disassembling or converting the Application.

36. All material and logos on the Application and Websites remain the property of Star.

37. Star is not responsible for the content of any other websites or applications linked on the Application or Websites.


LIABILITY

38. All conditions and warranties, whether express or implied and whether arising under legislation or otherwise, as to the condition, suitability, quality, fitness for purpose, or safety of any goods or services supplied under the StarSocial Partnership, are expressly excluded to the full extent permitted by law.

39. All personal information or material that you submit to this site is subject to Star’s Privacy Policy (www.stargroup.nz/starsocial-privacy-policy). The Privacy Policy forms part of these Terms.
